The Carbon credit and Emissions trading industry has suffered a deadly blow: somebody has hacked into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka Hadley CRU) and released 61MB of confidential files onto the www. The director of the institute, Phil Jones has confirmed the break-in. Amongst the files are 1079 emails and 72 documents exchanged and published by some of the biggest proponents and propagandists of Anthropogenic Global Warming (i.e. that CO2 emissions cause global warming). Does the data confirm that AGW is in fact a political project and not an environmental one?  A hoax designed so that global government can increase its paternalistic role over the people?  Very possibly.

Libertarians have long been questioning the validity of AGW, but have as usual been derided as ’skeptics’ in order to taint their reputations so the public wouldn’t want to be associated with such anti-statist nut-jobs.

In so far as the files are legitimate, the carbon trading market could vanish into thin air – banks with significant exposure could suffer serious losses if this were to happen. The Carbon trading market is highly profitable to the world’s banksters, evident by looking at its rapid growth. It has grown from a $64bn market in 2007 to being worth some $125bn in January 2009.

Of course, by drilling its subjects with more and more information on how Joburg will become the new Cape Town once the sea level rises, and as we get to see more and more shots of polar bears chilling with an icey cocktail by the poolside, we become more open to governments overseeing and steering us in the ‘right’ direction, to stop us from self-destructing and aborting the human race. For us to believe the story, the world’s leading technocrats and scientists twist the facts and numbers to suit global rulers’ agendas. This data leak may reveal the extent to which we have been manipulated into believing that humans and industrialisation are the cause of global warming. It will be very interesting to see the media spin on this data leak, especially as the UN’s Copenhagen Climate Change conference is to take place in less than a months time.
